ARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING � TUESDAY,JULY f0j 2007 NUSHPEE RAJY Present. Carlo 'Este,Jane Dolan,Nancy Soderberg, 1anna Smith, and Helen ,Library Director Absent: David Burton., Heather Lakatos, and Ann MacDonald-Dailey. Vice Chairman Nancy Soderberg called the meeting to order at :40 p.m. stating that David Burton would not e able to attend tonight's meeting but prepared the agenda, which she distributed to the Trustees. Avj2roval of Minutes Carlo 1 'Este motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of June 12, 2007 as Witten; Jane Bolan seconded this notion; and the notion was passed. Revorts Helene distributed copies of her monthly report,the CLAMS circulation statistics report, and Janet urke's report for June. These reports were reviewed and discussed. Copies of the reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes, .Helene advised the'Trustees that on Jul 1 she is going to tour 2 environmentally y Triendl libraries in Wendell and forth Adams. A copy of the flyer announcing these togs is attached to the printed set of these minutes. The Trustees.asked Helene to call and if registration'for the tour is still open then Jane Dolan and Nancy Stafford are interested in going. Trustees commented that `green energy"is making a lame impact at corporate and state levels. Helene informed the Trustees that Saugus and Medway libraries were de-certified and our library staff had to mark any Mashpee library cards issued to residents of these ommunities as de-certified because normally cards are not issued to residents of de-certified towns. These patrons had cards before the towns were de- certified. People from de-certified communities can use library resources inhouse or attend programs, but they cannot check materials out of the library. Helene advised that people could go on-line to Boston Public Library and register for ars a-card for 6 months to get downloadable books. Finally, during the,discussion of Janet urke's report, Jane mentioned that Janet Burke told her that SEMLS has a one-day symposium where performers(such as Yo Yo people)perform. Janet attends this symposium and then has an idea of what they do and which would fit our programs. Helene said that the Mass Cultural Council,Mass Family Network, and the Friends of Mashpee Library were also sponsors of some of the summer programs. Communications..,New Library Newsletter Nancy Stafford e-mailed Helene that the newsletter is ready to go. Nancy Stafford will have color version on- line nline and black and white version printed. The newsletter is still called"Preface's, but they are still running contest to come up with a new name.
