On Monday#August 6, 2007 Governor Dural Patrick released a Fire-Year Capital Inirestrrrn Plan for the Commonwea h. Over the past several months,the Patrick/Murray administration has been compiling a priority list of.capital projects that need funding*such as public safety, higher'education* transportation, courts,, libraries, etc. The Governor's office has informed us the next step the Administration will take is to file a capital bond bili in September,2007 which will include funding for public.iibrary construction. Dace the Capital Bond bill has been filed, more details wi11 be available for all of us to see. A copy of the capital bona 6111 and an email will be sent to all the waiting dist Communities as soon as it i avaliarbie. As soca pis the Governor's capital-bond bill is filed with the House clerk's office it will receive a bill number. Once a bill number has been assigned,the pap al bond bill will begin its journey through the House and Senate. The bill is aspen for debate and amendment in both the bourse and Senate. The capital bond bill must be passed by both the Douse and Senate before it becomes law. We are yrry pleased that the Patrick/Murray administration has included the need for public library construction funding in their Fire Year Capital Investment proposal.
