croffl ications Massachusetts Board of UbM Commissioners UOL0 Helene provided the Board with copies of 2 e-mails from patience Jackson, Library Building Consultant with SLC, giving update on the next steps in the legislative process for the Five-Year capital investrment plan proposal released by Governor Patrick. In reviewing the,information provided the Board was pleased that the Governor,the State Senate and Mate House of Representatives are supporting the capital bond bill. The Board also discussed the article that appeared in last week's Mashpee Enterprise where it was noted a self-imposed September deadline had been set by the Mashpee Board of Selectmen. It was the consensus of the Board that they must inform the Selectn of what is going on now with the grant. Motion: MacDonald-Dailey motldmied that the Board-of Library Tnagees send a letter to the Board o Selectmen advisingthen t t� a wish them to reconsider the self-hnposed September 1 deadline i view o obvious e pros made by both the Governor and erste;Nancy Soderberg seconded this motion;and it was unanimously approved. David will draft the letter to the-Selectmen and forward it to--theBoard for their review. In the letter it ill also point out how close we are to.receiving,this funding. U B C workshop - 5 Helene informed the'trustees that a flyer was received-from M BLC for a September 29 workshop on fundraising. Admission is fre ;but registration is require d...A copy of the flyer is attached to the printed set of these minutes. UbM Newsletter Nancy Soderberg said that fancy Stafford did the layout for the Preface publication and is there some way we can acknowledge a her for this good work. It was the consensus of the Board that.a"thank-you" should be seat to fancy Stafford in appreciation for her fine efforts. Nancy Soderberg will draft the letter. Friends' website Helene said that gape hod nln ill dost the Friends' website while they get another host because the Friends' website had been hacked into. Friends' Phone AnsMKn Machine Heather advised the Trustees that she was contacted by a+patron saying he had trouble getting through to the Friends. Heather spoke with Osten and they have a number of problems with the answering machine such as, for example,power failures, etc. The Board suggested that perhaps it may be worthwhile for the Friends to use phone company messaging rather than answering machine, but this, of course,is their decision. Heather suggested if possible some sort of message setup for"brigs and benches"be created. Old Business Artisans Fair...David reminded the Board that the Fair will be held Saturday, August 1 and that this will be the sixth year for this event and that it has been quite successful.
