Planning and Construction Committee Update <br /> Nancy Soderberg provided the Trustees with the update provided at the October 8th meeting of the Planning <br /> and Construction Conunittec. Highlights provided by Nancy and Helene included the following: <br /> • Project et corning in on schedule and within the expected budget costs. <br /> • Helene sent.e-mail to Library Trustees to participate ire October l tour of the building site.. <br /> Need for volunteers to do,the system security coding. Helene added that this will probably be started <br /> in December. <br /> A►new member is joining the Planning and Construction Committee. Mr. D. J. Ellis expressed an <br /> interest in joining the committee. <br /> Bricks should be delivered soon.. Helene added that bricks already sold will come engraved so they'll <br /> put in the bricks that have not been sold end replace plain with engraved as they go along. <br /> Time Capsule..,Jane Dolan reported that the article did appear in the Mashpee Enterprise. One idea was <br /> received as a result of that article. Jane said she e-mailed Joyce Mason and asked that the Board of Selectmen <br /> recommend items to go in the Time Capsule and also asked therm to appoint someone to review the essays that <br /> get submitted. Theresa Cook v ill do the essay reviews,-along with Carlo D'Este, one more member of the <br /> community, and teachers. <br /> r <br /> Jane said she is to submit the material and size of the container to the Planning and Construction Cottee <br /> for their review. <br /> Sculptors...Jane advised that she has been in pursuit of sculptors. She showed photos of work of 3 <br /> sculptors—namely Michael Guadagn , Milton Teichman, and Genn Silva. Helene added that Tedi Marsh and <br /> Dr. Silva would like to eon' nission Genn Silva to do a piece. Jane suggested that she and Helene meet with <br /> the Silas to discuss this. <br /> Art Policy....Jane said the policy is almost done. when f"mi hed, she will present it to the Trustees for review. <br /> i <br /> Friends of the Libra <br /> Jack Kowalskip rovided financial update of the Friends. He said at meeting today the Friends discussed future <br /> fundraisers. He said Touch-A-Track is probably not something for the future; he said next thing night b <br /> something bigger as a fundraiser. Discussion was to cone up vith something really new. Jane Dolan <br /> suggested maybe some type of concert. <br /> Jack said that Barbara l otarius will be away November 10, 2009-May, 20 10 but her cell phone will still be <br /> available, as well as e-mail. Helene added that if anyone is willing to do the weekly 1 fashpee Enterprise <br /> column that would be a help to Barbara. <br /> New Business <br /> Jane Dolan asked; At next Trustee meeting should we tally about an endowment` Jane said Groton has an <br /> endowment and it is under their Board of Library Trustees, <br />
