t� <br /> MASHPEE PUBLIC LIBRARY <br /> ACCEPTABLE USE INTERNET A CCESS POLICY <br /> ACCESS: <br /> Public Access to the Internet is through library PCs connected to a computer management <br /> system. Computers in the Children's Room and Young Adult Room are limited to those <br /> age groups. Computers on the upper floor are reserved through the computer reservation <br /> station. Patrons will reed a CLAMS library card and PIN number to sign up. visitors <br /> may purchase a guest pass to be used that day. Guest pass numbers rs must be returned to <br /> the Reference Desk after use. Patrons may reserve two computer sessions per day. <br /> Patrons using one ofthe two Express stations will receive a 15 minute slot. Use of an <br /> Express station constitutes a session. <br /> Printing is dome through a networked printer. Patrons must purchase a printer card to send <br /> jobs to the printer. Additional funds may be added at the printer kiosk. Patrons are <br /> responsible for their printer cards. No refuels are given for lost cards. If your card is lost, <br /> you will need to purchase a replacement. <br /> PATRON RESPONSIBILITY: <br /> The Internet stations are visible and audible to other patrons and staff of the library. <br /> Patrons are asked not to visit inappropriate saes that may be offensive to other patrons <br /> and library staff. If you choose to use the library's equipment, please be considerate of <br /> others and abide by this rule. Patrons ignoring this request will be asked to leave a site or <br /> ill be logged off if they for non-compliance. <br /> Please do not bookmark sites on the library's computer. Only sites added by library <br /> staff will be retained. If you Vn' h to save files, use a flash drive. Information sho l <br /> not be saved to the hard drive. <br /> Information found on the Internet is not always accurate or current. Evaluate a site for <br /> reliability and accuracy just as you would a printed source of information. Consider the <br /> qualifications of the individual or organization that has posted the in o n tion on the <br /> Internet. The library cannot take responsibility for the accuracy of information which <br /> patrons find on the Internet. <br /> The library uses the same guideline for children's Internet access as for their access to <br /> other forms of library materials. Parents need to monitor what materials their children <br /> use, regardless of forirnt and let their children know what restrictions the parents have on <br /> the types of materials their children may use. Library staff cannot assume this parental <br /> responsibility. Some material may be inappropriate for children. Parents should discus <br />
