The mothers involved in the Lap Babies program were r disappointed to see that the program did <br /> not continue through the summer. One of the mothers, Jeannette Campbell, offered to try t <br /> continue the program a "Parent Run" group. I thought this was a wonderful idea as the <br /> young mothers enjoy meeting weekly. Jeanette filled out a volunteer application and applied <br /> for the C RI check at Torn.Hall. Jeanette continued Lap Babies as a parent run group through <br /> July with an attendance f: <br /> July 7th Lala Babies 4 <br /> July 14th Lap Babies 4 <br /> ,duly 21st Lap Babies 1 <br /> July 25th Lap Babies 11 <br /> Claudia and I have been working together to offer a Multicultural Story and Craft Program for <br /> school-age children. We created passports for the children and each week we visit a different <br /> country and stamp their passports. I have been selecting the books and reading the stories, <br /> while Claudia has prepared the craft tivitie . Attendance has been: <br /> July 8th Multicultural Story and Craft 16 <br /> July 15'h Multicultural Story and Craft 1 <br /> Jul y 22nd Multicultural Story and Craft 6 <br /> July 29th Multicultur I Story and Craft 4 <br /> Jungle Encounters presented a gild animal pr ram at the library on July 6th. This-family event <br /> was sponsored by the ahpee Cultural Council end attended by 54 people. <br /> Pitter Patter Puppets performed at the library on July 12th to an audience of 55. Mary Wilson, <br /> on, <br /> the puppeteer, generously volunteered her time for this event. I had recommended her <br /> program on MA YAC, the children-s librarians listserve, and because she received so much <br /> business from the recommendation, she offered nye a free program. <br /> The Friends ofthe Mashpee Library sponsored a wonderful magic show, ScottJameson <br /> 1 <br /> Presents, on July 1 '. This event was attended by 135 people. <br /> Rosemary Modic, our Early Childhood Specialist from the Upper Cape Family Network, i <br /> offering a 5-week summer session of Toddle Time.
