Mashpee Public Library
Quiet Study Room Policy
2010
There are 2 quiet study rooms located on the 2nd floor of the Library, behind the Reference Desk.
The purpose of these rooms is to provide a quiet space for patrons to study, individually or in small
groups.
Use of a quiet study room:
Sign up for a room is made at the Reference Desk-in person or by calling the Reference Desk.
Reservations for a room may be made up to a week in advance.
Rooms can be reserved initially for a block of 2 hours. If at the end of the allotted time, further time is
needed, an additional 2 hours may be requested and allotted, provided there is not an existing reservation
for that room.
A quiet study room reservation will be held for up to 10 minutes past the requested start time.
Patrons are asked to call if they are delayed or there is a need to re-schedule or cancel.
The rooms are not soundproof. Patrons are asked to use quiet speaking voices.
Cell phones calls, "Skyping",podcasting, teleconferencing or any form of broadcasting is not allowed in
the quiet study rooms. Patrons are asked to step downstairs to the 2 glass entryways on the I"Floor for
those activities.
Text messaging is allowed.
The Library promotes a"No Food or Drink"policy throughout the Library which extends to the quiet
study rooms as well.
