N
Jim Chisholm thanked Ma 'Keeffe for the check from Comcast in the amount of$331,349.385
which was forwarded in letter to Joyce Mason dated February 4, 2004. Jing then advised that he
attended a meeting of friends of Senior Center Building Committee atid asked Mary whether
Comcast would be interested in doing anything to aid this building fund drive. In addition, he had
suggested that the Building Committee Friends send a letter to MCAT to see whether or not there is
an thing that would fall under MCAT" aid. Mary suggested that the Building Comrm*ttee Friends
send her a letter listing what is needed and, in addition, she would also like a lever from Jim Marr's
office identifying recommended needs for this Committee.
Finally,Jim Chisholm read e-mail from Richard Cooke to Joyce Mason inquiring on behalf of
Mashpee Men's Club and over seniors as to Comcast Senior Discount available under the Town
contract. Mary will e-mail the correct information on eligibility requirements for the discount offer
and then this Committee will forward a letter to Mr. Cooke with the details. In addition, with the
wording from Mary the `ferarl" on the local channel will explain how a person goes about getting the
discount.
Budget Discussion
.Tim.Marr and Jing Chisholm reviewed spreadsheet entries so that the accounts can be reconciled. In
discussing budget projections it was concluded that MCAT must be conservative so that they don't
over-budget. The reason for the comment was Mary O'Keeffe did agree that DIRECT TV was
making some inroads and would have an impact on the return to the community. She added, "it
would pay to be conservative in the latter years of the projection.'
Discussion
Jin Chisholm noted that Andy,,Tim Marr and Melissa had a meeting and Melissa reconsidered doing
Town Meeting production. She will do with couple of other people. MCAT will pay as outlined in
DICT January 13, 2004 minutes.
Bill Shea brought to the attention of the Board that we've had Selectmen and another committee
meeting at the same time. Since this is happening,Bill suggested buying 4 more gooseneck mikes to
be used when there are multiple meetings since the microphones they have to use in other rooms is
not good quality. Cost: Approximately$1300. for 4 mikes/bases/cabling.
Motion: Lolita McCray motion we recommend to Board of Selectmen to pay$ 3oo for the
additional equipment for [dual meeting capability; Jim Chisholm seconded the motions and it
was unanimously approved.
Next Meeting
Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 3 p.m., Town Hall Meeting Room 2.
Ad i ourn nt.O',,Tim Chisholm motioned to adjourn the meeting; this was seconded by. olit
McCray; and was unanimously passed.
