t r ■ 3 Permitting Software % User Based Fee for Fiscal 2005; The Town of Ma hpee uses GeoTMS for creating, tracking, and distributing Permits and Licenses for various departments. GeoTMS is currently used by Building Dept, Board of Health, Conservation Dept, Board of Selectman for Liquor Licensing, and Zoning Board of Appeals. These departments have used GeoTMS since January 1998. 1 recently beta tested the Assessor's Module and paid GeoTMS to create a database synchronization process that updates GeoTMS with Parcels and Owner 'data from our Assessing Application from Kapino . As of July ' 23, 2004 the existing 1 ,257 records and an additional'536 new records that were in l apino Assessing Application are now 100% accurate and reside on the GeoTMS databa e . This was the first step in expanding the capabilities and usage of the GeoTMS product line with the ultimate goal-of providing On Lire Permitting. Since January of 1998, GeoTMS has added Fire Permits, Fire code Enforcement, Fire Inspector(for use in the field using PDA's), Building Inspector (for use in the field using PDA' , health Code Enforcement, Health inspector(for use ire the field using PDA's), Pi nnin , Offi i l' Modul , GeoTIVIS Web, and GeoTMS PermitsOn-Line. The cost of these packages range from $1,495 t $4,995 per Licensed Dyer. Each of these applications run as stand alone products, but the true efficiency is the ability to enable departments to share information and see the results of one another I s work. A good analogy is the process of building a new house. The Parcel becomes a record in GeoTMS and all departments can add information, permits, inspections, violations, etc to this record. Certain functions have to occur before others and using GeoTMS's products allows everyone involved to basically work on the same page and follow a Parcel from Zoning or Planning through the actual completion of the louse. We became a beta site for the Fire Permits and Fire Code Enforcement Modules and the Fire Dept and Building Dept have been extremely nthusia ti .with the fucti nality. I think it is critical that the Town of Mashpee has a complete Permitting Licensing/Inspection System that works with the Assessor's Parcel and Owner Info and spans all departments and enables all departments to work in harmony using the same product and working with the same data. We looped at the funis Permitting Application and we think it is not nearly as functional, and certainly much more difficult to learn and use. With that said we feel staying with GeoTMS is the wary to go. The Town of Mashpee has purchased approximately % of the GeoTMS software and needs to commit to the other 0%for a complete solution.
