I will certainly pop into the meeting tomorrow and say hi, and answer any questions if
i wish. Just email me and
me know. If not necessary, thars fine also.
the most part since we last spoke upgrading Munis to version 2004 has been the biggest thing. irs very different than the
nis version we were
nning, it is very Graphical User Interface (GUI)intensive—like Microsoft Windows Products. Lots more functionality with the
use, much better
pabilities on the screen for resiting data columns, taking columns out, moving them, around, etc.
upgraded the Training detatabase on Dec 31st Then we let everyone train on that environment, then we had some training
sses,
n we went five on February 22nd. Seems fairly stable for the most part. They have patches like any large financial software
,kage does, but they do
retry good job getting the fixes out and the support to the customer base.
i of January we installed the Subscriber Unit for.the Wireless Network at the new Council on Aging building, just in time for
it Jan 28th opening day
lebration. Real nice building, Jim Long received some grant money for new pc's,we bought him a new Ethernet Switch and
y are humming along.
31rtunately, during that huge snowstorm I lost power at the Water Tower. 1 knew this because although I was snowed in at my
hborhood in Yarmouth,I had
co VPN connectivity and could connect to any and all servers to see their status. I knew that the base station and quickbridge
nnas were dead because I
Id not get to fire/police/dpw, or quashnet—yet I could conned to all servers at town hall. What we did was have Sheldon
blin-Deputy Eire Chief and Greg
Ior-DPW Director drive to town hall and work out of there. Scott Halligan from the Police Dept got a hold of Dave Rich Water
'ct Director, then got a plow and
ed the long driveway to the watertower and flipped the circuit breaker and repowered up my antennas!
n 2 things. 1 will buy a UPS for the Water Tower in case we lose power there, and I may buy
'zon DSL backup lines just for DPW and Fire Dept because they have to be up in Storms,
too much activity with the Permitting Software. Again,Munis was more important and I needed to stay up on that. I did work
4/12/2005
