This includes telephony, local and wide area data networks, e-mail and internet access, network operating systems, desktop operating systems, anti-virus protection, firewall proton, anti- parn ars anti-spyware initiatives, backup and disaster recovery services, software licensing and maintenance, networked printers and other related technology. Major Activities of the previous F!s I Year • Provided data processing services to 24 geographically disbursed departments. • Added the Mashpee Library to our wireless network, enabling secure connectivity to town resources for Library staff, while adding free wireless Internet access for the residents of Mashpee. • Installed 5 new PC's at the Library to provide fast,free Internet usage for Mashpee residents. • Installed wireless Access Points in Tarn Hall building to enable wireless connectivity for Town Employees. These are not open to the public but are secure access points for employees only. • Upgraded the wireless network software to increase our network bandwidth between locations from MB to 30MB, enabling us to easily run all our data traffic, while paving the way for voice and video. • tolled out secure, encrypted VPN software to enable remote connectivity for town employees. Installed Anti-Spam software for all email users. Averaging over 40,000 spam emails each month that are now deleted and never make 1t to the email accounts of town employees. • Installed Anti- pyware on the network to eliminate spyware on all networked client machines. • Continued enhancements and support for Outlook Web Access,which allows employees to access their email securely, anywhere worldwide via Internet Explorer. • Upgraded MU IS to version 2005 and trained all departments on changes and enhancements. • Polled out the Budgeting Module in 1UHIS and stand using in for the Fiscal 2007 Budget Process • Installed MUNIS OFFICE which enables seamless import and export to Microsoft word and Excel. Installed and wed the Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order Modules in MUMS, using the Workflow product and a delivery mechanism called MUMS Messenger. Plan on Fiscal 2007 Rollout. • Enhanced the Mashpee Town Hall Web site by adding the Kapinos(pk)Assessing infornnation. Anyone can look up assessing data without a trip to bDwn hall. • Enhanced the Mashpee Town Hall web site by adding the ability to view the status of Building, Board f Health, Conservation, Fire Inspection Perms and Code Enf roarnents without a trip to tDwn hall. • Enhanced the Mashpee Town Hall Web site by adding our GIS Information. This includes the latest Orthographic Maps and flyovers that we have worked on fbr almost 2 years. • Provided DSL conneicbMty to Mashpee KIDS KLUB to enable email and Internet capabilities. • Purchased and Implemented Sticker Tracker from Bonsai Logic to provide much better creation and tracking of all sticker based licenses. Examples are Mooring Stickers and Mooring Waitlists Beach Stickers,Transfer Station Stickers, Shellfish Licenses, etc. Early 2006 expected delivery date • Continued education and usage-of the Permitting applications using handheld PDA's for Fire Inspectors,, Board of Health Inspectors, and Building Inspectors. • Continued support for all ms's,, servers, printers, scanners, m derris, routers, switches,telephones, fakes and various types of software, including operating systems, office applications, financial, permitting, assessing anc client tracking systems. • Continued PC Hardware and Operating System upgrades to support Toon Hall business processes. Goals for Fiscal 2007 • To provide consistent, cost effective, and secure connectivity to all Data Processing Resources es for all Town of Mashpee departrnents. To evaluate and implement network security tools to monitor all access points to our network. • To deliver the capability to purchase PermitsOn-Line at the Mashpee Web Site.
