Although I agree it is
very much needed, and hope the Committee will support his request,I am
beginning to get concerned that we are financing projects as they come
up rather than part of a long range plan. I hop the Committee will
consider his request on April 10th, but I would like to see an updated
plan for moving forward.
Joyce
-----Original Message-----
From: David DelVecchio
Sent: Friday,April 06, 2007 3:55 PM
To: Andy Eliason;Jean Giliberti; Jim Chisholm;Jim Moroney;Lolita
MacCray;Maxine Wolfset
Cc: Bruce Stello;David DelVecchio; Joyce M.Mason; Thomas J.Mayo
Subject:FW: FatPipe product info
Hello MCAT Members,
Please take a look at the WARP Product Presentation Powerpoint and the
DNS Quote for this Wan.Acceleration/Load Balancing Device that I want
you to fund.
What we have at Town Hall is ONE Comcast Internet connection that
provides 8MB Speed to Town Hall and 1 MB Speed from Town Hall to the
Internet. This has become a bottleneck because we have expanded the
traffic thru Town Hall from the original 4 offices
(POLICF/FEZEOPW/QUASHNET)to a total of 8 Locations
(POLICE/FR2F✓DPW/QUASHNET/KCCOOMBS/HIGH SCHOOL/LIBRARY/COA) connecting
back to Town Hall. I added an additional Comcast connection FOR A Total
of 16MB Down and 2MB UP, but they need to be connected via a Load
Balancing device to provide twice the current bandwidth to the Internet,
and more importantly a backup Internet connection, This device can
accommodate a 3rd Internet connection(preferably from a different
vendor)thus completing our network redundancy.
4/10/2007
