tTOWN Off,
Ak
7 W
[7 m
q'NS4s'.c°"IPJ
MASHPEE CABLE AND ADVANCED
TECHNOLOGY ADVISORY BOARD
MINUTES OF TUESDAY,MAY 8,2007
TOWN HALL—MEETING ROOM 1
Present: Andrew Eliason
James Chisholm
Lolita McCray
Maxine Wolfset
James Moroney(arrived at 3:10 p.m.)
Also Present: Jeff Clough,Access Coordinator-Comcast
Andrew Eliason, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m.
Approval of Minutes... James Chisholm motioned to accept the minutes of the Meeting of April 10,2007; Lolita
McCray seconded the motion; and all Board members who were then present at the meeting approved the motion.
Jeff Clough—Comcast Studio
Andrew Eliason introduced Jeff Clough who has replaced Bob Fenstermaker at the Comcast Studio. Jeff addressed
the Board stating:
• He started at the Studio 4 months ago,but has had a number of positions with Comcast. He said that he
and Bob Fenstermaker have"switched" assignments.
• Jeff said he has some ideas for new equipment needed to be purchased for the studio.
• Studio has an old computer that is about 7 years old and for that equipment it is ancient. The computer
won't accept software used in the new portable Apple. The desktop system with new big flat screen
monitor would run about$3,500. Jeff did not get formal comparisons or quotes.
• Jeff suggested that the DVD player at the studio be replaced as well, but offered no cost estimate.
• Jeff pointed out that a Service System is a hard drive that holds all the programming and can do scheduling,
bulletin board, etc. He said currently they are limited to doing 11 shows per day.
Following discussion,Jeff said he would return to MCAT's next meeting and submit actual proposals for the
Board's consideration. Andrew Eliason explained that funding under the license is intended for the type of
equipment Jeff is requesting, but also cautioned that there is also a limit on how much funds are available.
Andrew then asked Jeff whether or not he had any training on the portable modulator system equipment. Jeff said
he would check the equipment. Andrew then asked would Jeff be willing to train volunteers on this equipment.
Maxine said she would be interested in learning and doing town meetings. Lolita McCray asked: Would this be
conflict of interest? Andrew responded that is a good point and we should check with Joyce Mason.
