i
April 22, 2008
To: Joyce Mason
MCAT Board
From: Tone Mayo
R : CAIS Software
Dear Joyce and MCAT Board Members,
FEMA and ESRI are promotthe use o ft
a new risk assessment software program called
HA ZU S. This program is a free download. I've attached information from the FFM
website about the progrwn.
However, in order to 'use the program, we have to have an ESRI extension software
license for a product called "ArcGIS Spatial Analyst". This is a robust GIS analysis tool
that I've been interested in for some time. As we maize our GIS organization project
we will then be ready for implementing this type of program, allowing us to perform all
sorts of GIS analyses previously unavailable. One of these analyses would be risk
assessment and the use of S is the prevalent software being used for this type of
work.
The cost for Spatial Analyst i $25566.
This notice is a formal request for the MCAT board to consider recommending fimdg in
the amount of$2,566 for the purchase of Spatial Analyst.
Thank your
.Torn
Torn Bayo
GIS Administrator
y
Dave Dlvio,IT Director
