shish lrn-iritr dit d-Recd"-'R d,Assistant Town Manager, who has been involved in the new licensing <br /> process. <br /> Rene' Read gave a brie'update: <br /> 0 Currently in process of doing renewal since Mashpee contract expires on November 29,2009. <br /> Cape Cod Consortium was created as a means of creating regional cooperation efficiency among 8 towns. <br /> 0 Received county funding to pay some of the legal fees. <br /> • Conducted Ascertainment Survey by'UMass Dartmouth Center for Policy Analysis for all consortium <br /> towns. <br /> • Telephone survey with over 500 homes contacted i] Mshpee. <br /> • Statistical analysis and report completed by UMlast month. Cop of DraftI report dated September 2ria <br /> handed to MCAT Board by Mr. Read. <br /> 0 In process of having 2 Ascertainment Public Hearins ne today;the outer scheduled for September 23 at <br /> p.m. in this meeting room. It was recommendation from counsel, Peter Epstein,Esq.,to hold 2 hearings. <br /> Mr.Read thea identified the proposed schedule that had been set: <br /> 1. Conduct survey and analysis/report...completed in August 2008.. <br /> 2. 1"Dearing in early September...clone September 2. <br /> . 2"a Dearing at end of September...scheduled for September 23. <br /> . Complete formal ascertainment report by OctoberNovember 2008. <br /> 5. Request for Proposal(RFP). <br /> . Final step...Contract Negotiations. <br /> Finally,Mr.Read pointed out to the MCAT Board that some questions arose as part of the survey and the results <br /> from these questions have no bearing on the rest of the survey...he said this can be footnoted that the questions <br /> were deleted from the final product. Mr. Read said he spoke with David Borges and be assured that all of the <br /> results are fine and these questions do not adversely impact the survey overall...the data is not"off'–the data is <br /> correct. Mir. Read said MCAT Board can contact David Borges directly if they wish. O <br /> David Delvecchio addressed the Hearing. He said he started his position the end ofDeeember-2003 and wants t <br /> say how important this MCAT Board and the relationship with Comcast has been to enable his Department to <br /> provide services to the Town of 1 lashpee. He noted as a few examples the following: <br /> • Expanded our network. <br /> • Updated domain servers and e-mail. <br /> • Permitting software. <br /> • GIS software-6 concurrent licenses. <br /> • Significant enhancements to systems and to the backbone of the network. <br /> Wireless backbone that connects all schools. <br /> • Solid,very good equipment <br /> Mr.Del eechio emphasized that the Town would not have been able to do all these things without the MCAT <br /> Board/Comcast support. He said we hope it continues. <br /> Toni Mayo addressed the Hearing and said he drafted a letter to the MCAT Board providing a list of GIS projects <br /> and assets that were fully or partially funded via.the MCAT technology account. llrrr.Mayo said that GIS in <br /> Mashpee is one of the best on Cape clue in a major part to the funding provided from MCAT.
