Mash ee Public Access Studio continued <br /> The camcorder and other equipment being requested: What would be the training process to ensure people <br /> would be able to use this equipment? Jeff Clough responded that he would provide orae- n-one training on <br /> the equipment as he does novo with current equipment. <br /> • Even with training,Andrew Eliason pointed out that the equipment still takes abuse. Jeff Clough said that <br /> 1s why he is ordermng the Pelican lard case for this equipment,rather than a plastic case. <br /> • It was pointed out to Mr.Clough that if Town does tale over the Studio then this equipment should be <br /> added to the list of equipment bung turned over to the Town. <br /> • Any other HD equipment in the Studio: Mr. Clough responded"no��i <br /> • With this equipment, could broadcast from the Studio be broadcast in SII : Mr. Clough responded"no". <br /> Any public access studios broadcasting in ID`s Mr. Clough responded"no". <br /> Amount of programming from other communities? Mr. Clough said about %. <br /> Why don't we see things broadcast like the veteran's Day at the Memorial Carden? Mr. Clough said <br /> x <br /> because no volunteers cone in to do that. It was pointed out to Mr. Clough that the new Mashpee Library <br /> is really making a splash and that would be a wonderful place for him to put up notices looking for F <br /> volunteers. That could be a good place to attract people of all age groups. <br /> Peter Cohen suggested that maybe the Studio and Mashpee Leisure Services could create something to work <br /> together. Peter Said he is happy to take the lead on this approach. The consensus of the Board was that this <br /> sounded good and they were pleased that Peter Cohen offered to work on this. <br /> Motion; Lolita McCray motioned that Peter Cohen serve as the community outreach liaison with the <br /> Mashpee Public-Access Studio;James Chisholm seconded this motion; and it was unanimously passed. <br /> The Board then reviewed and discussed the proposal presented by Jeff Clough. Andrew Eliason stated that given <br /> that it is a modest request,equipment would be Town-funded and Town-owned,and the equipment would be <br /> useful, he would propose approving this request. The Board agreed. <br /> Motion: James Chisholm motioned the MCAT Board recommend to the Board of Selectmen that they <br /> accept Jeff lou h's report and request in the amount not to exceed $9,000 for purchases from the Camera <br /> Company for the purpose of upgrading portable Access Studio equipment to HD and replacement of <br /> obsolete equipment; Louts McCr•ay seconded this motion; and it was unanimously passed. <br /> Joyce Mason advised Mr. Clough that the Purchase Order has to be done out of the Town Manager's office and that <br /> quotes are needed. Since Mr. Clough only secured 2 quotes,he said he will obtain one more quote from Valley <br /> Communications. <br /> Finally,Andrew Eliason said to.Teff`Clough as an aside: If the Town in fast takes over the Studio operation,would <br /> he be interested in staying with the Studio? Jeff dough said"most definitely". <br /> Comcast License,..MCAT Board asked Joyce Mason whether there was any update. Joyce said nothing to.report, <br /> they have not heard back from Comcast yet. <br /> MCATBOARD <br /> Andrew Eliason said he wanted to review how this Board started anew as an off shoot of another committee and <br /> that approximately 21 gears ago he was named to chair the committee. Andrew said he thinks it is necessary to at <br /> least mention once a year if anyone else is interested in chairing this Board because it would take some of the load <br /> off of him. Andrew proposed the Board consider this. <br /> Andrew mentioned to Joyce Mason that he saw there are.2 candidates being considered for only l position on the <br /> Sewer Commission. Andrew asked Joyce if she would like to offer one of the candidates the position that is open <br /> on this MCAT Board. Joyce explained that the procedure they follow is that whoever isn't chosen is given a list of <br /> vacancies on all boards and committees. <br />
