Peter said there are a lot of procedures, such as obtaining a site;preparing by-laws; etc., involved in <br /> setting up a community television project. David li elvecchio has.also attended these meetings. Peter said due to <br /> business commitments he was not able to attend the last meeting. He said he will keep MCAT Board apprised. <br /> The working group meets bi-weekly. <br /> Scott McGee addressed the Board and said that the School Committee is concerned about any issues that arise <br /> regarding the school production on Channel 22. Peter said he will be happy to keep them apprised but it should be <br /> status quo with no changes to channels. Andrew Eliason added that it is written into the license that it would not <br /> affect any educational function. <br /> Arthur Joia asked: will education run under community television: Andrew said he believes community television <br /> will handle only the community part but would liaise with the educational. Peter Coben said he cannot respond <br /> because community TV doesn't exist yet, but as MCAT Chairman his expectation would be that the programming <br /> we would life to see as part of that would involve schools in same respect scbool has always been involved...using <br /> Channel 22 as you use it now. <br /> Lotita McCray commented that until basic agenda set and they have a director for community TV,then that director <br /> will be setting up ghat it is to entail. Andrew Eliason added that he would expect director will be knocking on <br /> School Media Director's door to see if you have people with technical expertise to get this up and running. Peter <br /> said the bottom line 'is it would be status quc�--no changes to educational channel. <br /> 5 <br /> Question: Is there an operating budget for the non-profit?-Andrew responded that nothing in black and white yet. <br /> Arthur asked if communication could be opened to the School Committee. Peter responded"yes"they should tali <br /> to Town Manager on that issue. Andrew said perhaps someone would want to apply from the School Committee to <br /> serve on the board of directors for community television when it's founded. <br /> Control loon <br /> Andrew said the outgoing signal just simply disappears during broadcast for a minute or so and then returns. it <br /> seems to be problem on Comcast end. Andrew said the last occurrence was during last night's Board of Sel toren <br /> meeting,there was a minute of dead silence then it recovered itself.
