Mason
David DelVehio
Subject: MCAT Funding Needs Request
Hi Joyce,
Took a while to gather accurate pricing but here are the items we would like to address sooner instead of later for
network security, stability, and access.
We purchased VEEM Backup and Replication for the Town Hall VMware server but skipped that line item when we
bought the V IWare Servers and software for the
Police and Fire Dept's through ClP this past year. we currently backup all Virtual Server's as complete servers at Town
Hall, This allows us to restore a complete server
From backup in an emergency. with this ability at Fire and Police we will not only be able to backup complete virtual
servers at Fire and Police but also replicate Live
Copies of Virtual Servers across our network throughout the day, enabling us to restore a complete server in minutes,
not hours.
1) VEEM Backup and Replication $4208.24
2) Maint for 8 months $661.76
WE currently have inside Wireless Access Points at Town Hall, Police, Fire, CoA, Library, and Fire Substation. These allow
any wireless device either public access or
Private network access, like the Ambulances synching with ArnbuPro EMS Server. The current AP's are several years old
and we have repaired 3 of them, and discarded
2 over the years. I would like to replace therm all with newer Motorola Access Points that enable us to centrally manage
these devices which tightens our security and
Increases the speed of wireless access from devices and the physical distance one can access our network.
1) --AP6521 Access Points @ $595 Total cost$4165
2) --AP 511 Access Points @ $399 Total cost$2793
We recently consolidated-physical servers at Police and Fire De pt-to-virtuaI se rve rs running VMWare for cost sarin s and
increased performance and ease of network management.
With that,ClP request we also bought and installed Eaton 9130 online U PS within each server rack at each site.-This
consolidated multiple lower quality UPS"s into a single rack mounted
IFPS that maintains clean power to the VIIII Ilare servers even when the generators kick in and we can manage thea
remotely via IP addresses and web access. The Fire Dept and Police
Dept tests their generators weekly, and in the case of the Fire Dept we have had many tires lost connectivity to servers
because of failing older UPS"s that just couldn't handle the -
cond delay when switching over power. Town Hall has Interactive rack mounted UP 's that don't filter and condition
power as the Online LP 's do. Also they are several gears old,
. i
