NAS P BE COUNCIL ON AGING <br /> MAY IOY - 1995i <br /> IN ATTENDANCE ALSO PRESENT <br /> Betty Jones, Chairman/Secretary James Long, Director <br /> Miriam Mullin, Vice Chairman Lynne Waterman, <br /> Aurora Bird outreach Coord. <br /> Frank Hicks Catherine Conroy, Pres <br /> Robert Osborn Friends of CoA <br /> B. Jean Thomas Better Nichols, Mashpee <br /> Taxpayers Assoc. <br /> ABSENT Jennie Morris <br /> Arthur Weinstein <br /> The meeting was opened at 9 :013 Ali in the Carol- H. Jacobson <br /> Senior Center. <br /> Frank Hicks made a motion to accept the Secretary' s Report as <br /> written and it was seconded by Bob Osborn. So moved. <br /> In the absence of the Treasurer, the. Director handed out the <br /> Treasurer ' s Report and it was noted that for ten months we <br /> have spent 7 and we are in good shape. Bob Osborn made a <br /> motion to accept the Treasurer ' s Report as presented and it <br /> was seconded by Frank Hicks. So roved. <br /> A new typewriter has been ordered for the office and should <br /> e delivered shortly. <br /> The Director' s Report was handed out and discussed. The <br /> first Newcomers Welcome Tea was held and was very successful , <br /> The Council on Aging requested Z oo for maintenance of a van <br /> to be used if we were successful in obtaining one and it was <br /> denied at Town Meeting. However, we did obtain approval for <br /> our share of the money if we are successful in obtaining a <br /> van through a grant application. We are also exploring <br /> another avenue to obtain a van from the Regional. Transit <br /> Authority through a leasing arrangement. Frank Hicks made a <br /> motion to accept the Director' s Report and it was seconded <br /> by Bob Osborn. So moved. <br /> The outreach Coordinator handed out her report and it was <br /> discussed. Housing on the cape is very difficult to obtain <br /> on ars emergency basis and the outreach Coordinator- is trying <br /> to help out. A Volunteer Appreciation Tea was held on April <br /> 26 in honor of National Volunteer Week and Clinical Studies <br /> supplied the refreshments. <br />
