MAS PEE COMMONS ADVISOR ' COMMITTEE <br /> MAPEE MIDDLE SCHOOL <br /> MAY 14 . t996 <br /> PRESENT : Spyro Mitro ostas , Marie Scalley, John Ferguson a Dennis <br /> Bal ari.ni , Tom Potts , and 'tom Fud la <br /> Representing Field Point were : Bu ` Chace , Doug Storrs and Ms , <br /> Alexandra Gill-IS <br /> Mr , Mitro osta.s convened the meeting at p,m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM APRTL L , 1996 , APRIL 20 , 19 9 AND APRT L <br /> 3 , 1990 <br /> Mr. Ferguson roved to approve the minutes of April. 9 , 1996 . Mr . <br /> Ba.l arinl seconded the motion. All were in favor . <br /> Mr . Ferguson roved to approve the minutes of April 20 , 1996 . Mr . <br /> Bal arini seconded the motion. All were in favor . <br /> Mr . F'erguon moved to approve, as amended, the minutes of April 30 , <br /> 1996 . Mr . Pouts seconded the motion. All were in favor . <br /> DISCUSSION F IMPACT ANALYSIS PARAMETERS <br /> Mr . Storrs discussed with the committee that presently, the cost <br /> per student was $4 , 900 and could go as high a $6 , 000 per student <br /> as contingent with the flat tax rate o $366 , '700 at 2% per annum. <br /> The committee agreed that a, rate of . 4 would appear high as a. <br /> multiplier. The projected sales gate of housing within whitings Rd <br /> would be set at approximately $140 , 000 per unit as compared with <br /> other neighborhoods previously discussed. <br /> Overall the committee was satisfied with the growth potential but <br /> was concerned about establishing too much commercial space . Mr. <br /> Chace discussed that Whitings Rd. would be more established with <br /> housing and Jobs Fishing Rd. would have more commercial. space; He <br /> further stated that, venturing out from the commons would be more <br /> attractive to the buyer for housing purposes . Mr . Potts asked for <br /> justification in the numbers for commercial space . Mr . Chace <br /> discussed commercial space and the meed for rezoning * <br /> Mr. Fudaiaants Fields Point to look more closely at the numbers <br /> to counterbalance with the numbers of commercial and residential <br /> uniis . Mrs . Scab.ie stated that people may not want to live s <br /> close to commercial property. <br /> Fields Polnt representatives distributed a summary of Mashpee <br /> Impact Analysis to the committee, The committee discussed the <br /> summary and agreed that a, waste water "treatment Plant would be <br /> better than having individual systems , <br />
