ASHP F COMMONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> MA HP F MIDDLE SCHOOL <br /> MAY 28 , 1996 <br /> PRESENT : Spyro Mitro osta.s, Dick Dema.s , Marie scalley, John <br /> * Ferguson, Bob Whritenour, Executive Secretary, Tori. Potts , .Jim <br /> Dorgan, and Tom Fla <br /> There were no representatives from Fields Point in attendance . <br /> Mr. Mitroostas convened the meeting at 5 : 15 p.m. <br /> With Fields Point not being represented, the committee decided to <br /> brainstorm for thewrap-up meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 4 , <br /> 1996 . <br /> Mr . Ferguson stated that he had received a letter from Margo Fenn, <br /> representing the cape cod commission. He further stated that he <br /> was not sold on 400 units as proposed but would rather see the <br /> number of units be reduced to 20 units . <br /> The committee agreed that for the most part they liked the concept , <br /> but saw a, need for more greenspace . Overally density remained to <br /> be an issue/concern of the committee . <br /> The committee decided to list items of concern, which will b <br /> drafted by Mr . Whritenour for the next meeting to be discussed with <br /> Fields Point . <br /> Discussed were : <br /> 1 . Density - Make less dense. Whitings Ind had too much cluster. <br /> No increase in commercial space, but any future development of <br /> commercial space should be consistent with style and scale of <br /> renderings previously shown to the committee . <br /> 2 . en pace - Transfer of development rights in open space . <br /> P <br /> Add urban parks around the Trout Pond area and in the urban area.. <br /> No individual housing units/lots around the Trout Pond area. Motel <br /> and Performing Arts Center were okay. <br /> . Traffic - The whole issue had not been thoroughly discussed <br /> and the committee still unclear on proposed traffic plan/study. <br /> No on street parking, but island with trees idea okay to reduce <br /> speed on Rte .. Tie in with Deer Crossing and Commons . Maximize <br /> bicycle and walking paths . size of parkin` spaces not to have <br /> variance from Town By-laws . Recommend further study with rotary <br /> bypass as covered by comprehensive plans <br /> 4 . Impact to Town Services - Streets to be maintained privately <br /> and not by D .P. . , or share in the cost. All efforts should b <br /> made to minimize impact on Town services . <br />
