ASHP F COMMONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MA HP F MIDDLE SCHOOL MAY 28 , 1996 PRESENT : Spyro Mitro osta.s, Dick Dema.s , Marie scalley, John * Ferguson, Bob Whritenour, Executive Secretary, Tori. Potts , .Jim Dorgan, and Tom Fla There were no representatives from Fields Point in attendance . Mr. Mitroostas convened the meeting at 5 : 15 p.m. With Fields Point not being represented, the committee decided to brainstorm for thewrap-up meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 4 , 1996 . Mr . Ferguson stated that he had received a letter from Margo Fenn, representing the cape cod commission. He further stated that he was not sold on 400 units as proposed but would rather see the number of units be reduced to 20 units . The committee agreed that for the most part they liked the concept , but saw a, need for more greenspace . Overally density remained to be an issue/concern of the committee . The committee decided to list items of concern, which will b drafted by Mr . Whritenour for the next meeting to be discussed with Fields Point . Discussed were : 1 . Density - Make less dense. Whitings Ind had too much cluster. No increase in commercial space, but any future development of commercial space should be consistent with style and scale of renderings previously shown to the committee . 2 . en pace - Transfer of development rights in open space . P Add urban parks around the Trout Pond area and in the urban area.. No individual housing units/lots around the Trout Pond area. Motel and Performing Arts Center were okay. . Traffic - The whole issue had not been thoroughly discussed and the committee still unclear on proposed traffic plan/study. No on street parking, but island with trees idea okay to reduce speed on Rte .. Tie in with Deer Crossing and Commons . Maximize bicycle and walking paths . size of parkin` spaces not to have variance from Town By-laws . Recommend further study with rotary bypass as covered by comprehensive plans 4 . Impact to Town Services - Streets to be maintained privately and not by D .P. . , or share in the cost. All efforts should b made to minimize impact on Town services .
