Town of Mashpee <br /> Mas pee Commons Advisory Committee <br /> Public Hearing <br /> September 2 , 1997 <br /> The Pubi is Dearing was called to order in Conference Room <br /> ##1, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great Deck Road North, Mas pee, <br /> Massachusetts, at 6 : 30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 1997 . <br /> electman Dinizio presided. <br /> Committee Members present: Peter Dinizio, Selectman; <br /> Kenneth Marsters, Selectman; Robert Whritenour, Executive <br /> Secretary; and Thomas Fudaia, Town Planner, <br /> Also present: Robert Brais, office of Thomas J. Martin; <br /> Arnold Chace and Douglas Storrs, Mashpee Commons Ltd. <br /> Partnership. <br /> The Dearing was called to order, Selectman Dinizio welcomed <br /> everyone in attendance. He introduced himself as Chairman of the <br /> 1 ashpee Commons Advisory Committee, as well as individual members <br /> of the Committee. Selectman L ini io explained the purpose of the <br /> Committee is to follow up the results of a previous committee' s <br /> (1986) unairous vote supporting a proposed conceptual plan for <br /> the expansion of Mashpee Commons as a mixed use development. <br /> Consideration of a change in Zoning is to be addressed at the May <br /> Town Meeting. The intent of the Committee is to conduct a series <br /> of Public Sessions in order to ascertain input from Members of <br /> the Town. <br /> Selectman Iiniio teen introduced Robert Brais, Consultant, <br /> from the office of Thomas J. Martin. He explained Mr. Brais , <br /> role as fiduciary advocate for the Town. <br /> At this point, Selectman Dinizio introduced Arnold (Buff) <br /> Chace, President Mas pee Commons Ltd. Partnership. <br /> Mr. Chace explained he would be presenting a slide show, <br /> followed by aquestion/answer period. He introduced Kerry Marsh, <br /> Douglas Storrs, Rose Burlingame, Melinda Gallant, and John <br /> Kelley. <br /> Slide Show Presentation <br /> Development Plan: Original Shopping Center, developed in <br /> 1962- 163 . hristy' s Market, Hinckley Center, House and Garden, <br /> Drug More, and Movie Theater. 1986 plan permitted; town green., <br /> church, post office. Streets developed behind the shopping <br /> center. <br /> History: Star Market, Gap, Building under construction, <br /> road layout, curbing. <br />
