Mr. whrlenur asked about the need for new fire equipment,
such as a ladder truck in order to service the development, and
the possibility of adding onto the existing - fire station in order
to house such new equipment.
Mr. Bronow stated the construction costs of a new fire
station, plus additional equipment costs have been incorporated
.into the fiscal model (pg. 42-operating, pg. 54-capital) , based
on current levels of ser ric . (There was brief discussion
regarding the necessity of new fire equipment. )
Mr.. Storrs commented that Mr. Bronow had not made a decision
one way or the other about a' ladder truck, but rather
incorporated the information that had been provided to him by the
Fire Department. Mr. Bronow stated the current levels of service
do not include a .ladder truck.
Both Mr. Whritenour and Selectman an eveille repeated the Fire
chief ' s insistence for the need of a ladder truck regarding
issues of safety associated 'with the proposed development .
. w ritenour established the fact that a ladder truck is
needed for the existing development.
Mr. Bronow concluded the slide presentation .by suggesting it
would be helpful for him to receive comments from the Town.
Mr. Whritenour asked if it would be possible to allocate
revenues and costs per single family homes as part of the
analysis .
Mr. Bronow explained that would be the prototype analysis,
which is a separate type of analysis, and would involve a good
deal of work. He girl make reference to the fact that the
information has been broken down by Neighborhoods and because
Whitings load is strictly residential, the high market value .is
a net positive.
Mr. whritenour asked if there is an increase in the fire,
costs for existing vs. proposed commercial. Mr. Bronow answered
that fire was based on cost for service (60W-residential, 40%-
commercial) , to determine the per unit and per thousand square
feet of commercial cost.
Mr. Lynch inquired as to the existing thirteen 1
apartment rentals. Mr. Storrs answered they had put a "good
guess" prig on them, as they did not know what the true market
value was.
Mr. Storrs encouraged everyone to read thr u h the Studies,
and to- make him aware of any , e tion comments that he might
then address at the next scheduled Meeting.
-6-
