Town of Mashpee <br /> mashpee Crons Advisory Crtitte <br /> Mashpee Commons Master Plan <br /> Public Meeting - August 27, 1998 <br /> The Mashpee Co mons Master Plan - Public Meeting was called <br /> to order at the Ma hpee 'Hi h School Auditorium,, 500 old <br /> Barnstable Read, Mashpee, Mas achusetts, at 7: 05 p.m. on <br /> Thursday, August 27, 1998 . The Moderator presided. <br /> Moderator: Jeremy M. Carter. <br /> Committee Members present: Selectman Kenneth Marsters; <br /> Selectman David L eine; Robert Whritenour, Executive Secretary; <br /> F. Thous Fudala, Town Planner; Sally Bold; Melbourne Cragwell.; <br /> John Ferguson; and Robert Lynch. <br /> Absent: John KuChinski, Planning Board Member; Chance <br /> Reichel, Planning Board Member; and Antoinette Brooks. <br /> Also present : Arnold Chace and Douglas Storrs, Mashpee <br /> Cor noes Ltd. Partnership. <br /> Consultants,: Jeff Bronow, Tischler & Associates, Inc. , <br /> Executive Sunimary-Fiscal Impact Analysis; Joe Stupar, R.D. <br /> anesse & Associates, Inc. , Traffic Study; and Duncan Wood, <br /> Sanborn, Bead & Associates, Inc. , Wastewater Study. <br /> NOTE: There were approximately seventy 70 people in <br /> attendance. <br /> The Moderator opened the Meeting by welcoming everyone to <br /> the Selectmen Sub-committee Meeting for' the Mashpee Commons <br /> Master Plan. Mr-. Carter introduced himself, explaining he would <br /> be moderating questions and answers. M . Carter then, outlined <br /> the agenda being presented this eveningHa then deferred to <br /> Selectman Marsters. <br /> Selectman Marsters presented a brief history of the Mashpee <br /> Commons Advisory Committee, stating the first Advisory Committee <br /> had been organized in the fall of 1995 for the purpose of <br /> studying the proposal for the Mashpee Commons expansion. Said <br /> Committee reported back to the Selectmen in June of 1996, by . <br /> submission of a four-page report which -was supportive of the <br /> conceptual plan, as well as noting key areas of the plan that <br /> required further study. "The Committee feels that ars expan ,ion <br /> of the village atmosphere created through the architecture of the <br /> Mashpee Cormnons in the introduction of housing, the hotel <br /> facility, and performing arts center to this site will create a <br /> high quality focal point for this area of our comuanity and will <br /> e appealing to both residents and visitors alike. " <br /> A new Cormui ttee was created in 1996, whose function it was <br />
