Vere will be no changes to the property. She wishes to use
one bedroom and one bath as a B&B located above the garage. There are two efts, one through
the existing house and one private entrance. There are two parking spaces in addition to her two-
car garage. This meets the parking requirements. Vere is a motion detector light from the
parking area to the entrance. It is hardwired for smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors
are present. A continental breakfast will be served.
Board of Health: The septic was built for four bedrooms, and three will be dedicated for the
main dwelling and one for the B&B unit. No food prep shall be allowed on-site for the guests.
Mrs. Notarius obtained a BB permit for one unit I from the BOH. The residential kitchen
permit is not necessary at this time, but it would be required along with a certified food manager
training certificate if here is ever any mead preparation for guests.
DPW: At this time Horseshoe Bend way, a dirt road, is a private road which the
residents/property owners are responsible for maintaining. In years past, it has been on the list
of roads not plowed by the Town because of its poor condition. This road is on the list for road
taking by the Town.
Where was one letter in opposition concerning parking and traffic entering and exiting the
propel. Deborah McDonald of 30 Horseshoe Bead way writes: The location of the property
is extremely close to the entrance from Sandwich Road and is blind upon entry onto Horseshoe
Bend Way. The potential for ars accident is high because of low visibility and the narrowness of
the road.
There were several, abutters in attendance who were in favor of the B&B citing that they wo.uld
use this service when they are overloaded with visiting guests.
