My clients met on April 15, 2009 with the Board of Health
and submitted all of the information requested by the Board. The hearing was postponed
until April 29, 2009 in order to give the Board members adequate time to review the
material submitted.
My clients are proposing to construct a kennel at the very rear of their property,
some three hundred feet away from other homes. The kennel is proposed for the housing
of six (6) pit bull breed dogs ranging in age from two years to nine years old. Two of the
dogs are age 9, three are age 4 and one dog is age 2.
The proposed exterior dimensions of the kennel foundation are 20 feet by 28 feet
consisting of a concrete slab. The cages will be screwed into the concrete foundation.
The exterior structure will have three (3) cages on each of the two sides of the building,
with each cage measuring 5 feet by 8 feet. The roof will be made out of trusses that hang
over the dog cages further prohibiting the dogs from jumping out of the cages, and also to
provide some shelter from the snow and sun.
The interior dimensions of the building will be 12 feet by 20 feet. The building
will have a total of six individual sleeping quarters for each dog. Each dog will have 5
foot 6 4 foot sleeping areas. The building will have one door that enters into the 4 foot
Y p g g
by 7 foot hallway leading into a 12 foot by 5 foot storage area.
