I <br /> Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee <br /> Minutes of Meeting Held Tuesday,December 5,2006 <br /> Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 2 <br /> Committee Members Present: Eugene Smargon, Irving Goldberg,Joe Brait,Devin Shaekett, <br /> Sheldon Gilbert, and Tricia 'arolski (Ex Officio Member). <br /> Absent: Steve Cook, and Janice Wills. <br /> Also Present: Catherine Laurent,DPW <br /> Joyce Mason,as n, Town Manager <br /> Helene DeFoeP Library Director <br /> Audience: Bonnie Barrett–Former Vice Chairman of Library Building Committee <br /> Ann MacDonald-Dailey–Library Trustee <br /> Nancy Soderberg–Library Trustee <br /> Gene Smargon, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.. <br /> &Mroval of Minutes <br /> ung Goldberg motioned to accept the minutes of Special Meeting of November 15, 2006 as <br /> presented;Devin Shaekett seconded this motion; and the motion vas unanimously approved. <br /> Old Business <br /> ibr r Building Project <br /> Architect Stewart Roberts will do nothing further until he has direction from this Committee. <br /> Meeting was then turned to Helene Defoe. Helene gave each member of the Committee a copy <br /> of a Needs Assessment she had to prepare in applying for the State grant. Helene gave ars <br /> overview of this document, which is attached to the p nted set of these minutes, <br /> Helene then gave the Committee members a copy of the Town"s Comprehensive Flan written in <br /> 1999. elene's narrative was also given in written form—copies of these materials are also <br /> attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Helene pointed out that there are va ous programs—such as adult and young adult that are not <br /> provided by the library because there is no space. Also,the children's programs are frequently <br /> held outdoors to be able to accommodate the numbers and if held indoors they are severely <br /> cramped. <br />
