.ZY, Mshpee Planning and Construction Committee Afinutes of Meeting Meld Tuesday,June 5,2007 Mashpee Town Hall Meeting Room 2 Committee Members Present: Eugene Smargon, Irving Goldberg, Joe Krait, Kevin Shackett, Steve Cook,and Janice Mills. Absent: Sheldon Ebert, and Tricia Parolski Officio Member). Also Present: Catherine Laurent,DPW Gene Smargon,Chairman, called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. .Allp oval of Irving Goldberg motioned to accept the minutes ofthe Meeting of May 1, 2007;Janice N'lills seconded this motion; and the notion was unanimously approved. Old Business Fire Substation Buddin.A Pro'ect Steve Cook informed the Coianittee: • Contracts were signed with architect DVV. • Steve, Catherine, Ren6,Rick Ponu y and Chief Baker met with Architect Debbie Iurland of DVV and hashed out the requirements for the fire,substation, along with discussing budget,time schedule, etc. • DVV doing survey of the site. • Looked at space requirements to fit total cost into budget. • Chief Baker wants one drive-through bay to fit 2 trucks and it could also fit the ladder truck, if needed. • Separate ambulance bay. • Lean-to at side for Fire Department boat storage,but Catherine commented that maybe another side building might be better rather than.lean-to. • Option to extend the second bay to 80 feet so that there would be two 80 feet drive-through bays, but this is an option and will only be done if it doesn't exceed budget. To basement—building will be on slab. • vestibule taken out. Instead of having first acid mn lobby perhaps this can be done in the ambulance bay area with the ambulance there. • Building ended yup a little less than 6,000 square feet. • Iry Goldberg asked what is the fee being paid to the architect. Catherine responded the fee is 130,000. Big issue to be addressed is water supply to the fire substation. Catherine said the water District has a meeting tonight and so she dropped off`site plan for them to review at least prel ern ami ly as to whether or not this is something they would agree to do. • Gas is available. • Unless something comes up such as having to pay for the water or some,other concern, right now we are right within the budget. • Catherine.stated that DPW isdoing to do the site work—they're going to clear the site, etc. once location finalized. • Septic system—nothing been done,testing to be done.
