i" Financial Commitment <br /> Steve i forrned the Committee that the Friends of the Library said they are willing to cone up with some <br /> finds for some of the energy-saving iters for the project. Steve said Barbara Notarius seat a 1mer saying <br /> they will emit$100,000 but they will determine ghat is to be funded and rebates should go back to the <br /> Friends, not to T m budget. Steve said Town couldn't do this so they are proposing to drop 10 , <br /> from the furniture budget and the Friends can come up with$100,000 for the furnishings. Barbara <br /> responded that she sent out the letter to the hoard but she personally has a problem with this since <br /> research shoved about %in rebates would come back to there that they could use towards other <br /> objectives. There was lively discussion on this matter and it was decided that it would be discussed <br /> agars. <br /> As a final comment,Janice Mills said in her experience there is a huge difference between <br /> rnuncipal building funding and private building fmiding. <br /> All attendees except Comm ttee members, Catherine,and Rick Fornroy exited the meeting at 7-50 p.m. <br /> Firie Substation <br /> Rick Pornroy gave an update on this project: <br /> • Rick had long discussion with Barbato Construction today. <br /> • Anticipate a lot of drawings to be coming through. <br /> Looking for -month construction period. <br /> Peter asked if he could start sooner than March 1. Rick asked hire to submit in writing. In <br /> discussing with the Committee, Risk indicated we would not g�anything by starting earlier. <br /> Pre-construction meetings to start second week in February. <br /> Once fire substation under construction,have subcommittee meet every 2 weeks and full <br /> Committee continue meeting first Tuesday of the month. <br /> • Water line—considered offering to general contractor providngpricing was reasonable. <br /> However, to sage money we're going out to bid since contractor would just be fanning it out. <br /> • Design plans about 0 done. <br /> • Buildimg pent will be pulled. <br /> • Vehicle exhaust...documents being prepared and will be finished by e .d.of February. .voce and <br /> Ren.6 will be taling to Attorney General's office' for them to review bid documents in hope to <br /> avoid protest by sub-par vendors . <br /> • Landscape plan design...will be in February. <br /> • Catherine reported that on-site work has been going on for about 2 weeks and most of the cutting <br /> is done.
