Design Schedule Extension —The original schedule put forth by the Architect indicated a design schedule being 100%
complete and out to bid on 7/15/08. The actual design completion and bid start date was 9/5/08 which extended the j
schedule almost 8 weeks.when PA's contract was in negotiation we expressed that the design schedule was too aggressive,
but used the Architects schedule for pricing purposes. Reasons for the extended schedule are; implementation of LEED
requirements, Building Code changes and the schedule was too aggressive from the beginning. Two weeks ofthe delay
have been accounted for in the LEED change. The remaining 5.5 weeks are estimated to absorb 55 hours of OPM time and
2 hours of Administration time.
2. Masbpee Commons Coordination—Municipal and abutter coordination is traditionally included M OPMresponsibilities
similar to the coordination the Committee evidenced with the Fire Station No 2 project. The coordination, with Mashpee
Commons for building design, site design, stoma drainage, site lighting, sewer flow, street access, entrance drive parking,
sidewalk access, easements and electrical primary sharing has been far in excess of traditional coordination. PA began
coordination meetings with MC on April 1,2008 and we continue even at this time.In fact we have a meeting this Friday to
review easements and negotiate the shared cost for the installation of the electrical primary. we can easily account for over
100 hours of OPM time invested working with Mashpee Commons in one way or another over the last 10 months.
HVAC Did Protest — Bid protests are not included in OPM services. PA invested at least 30 hours of OPM time
representing the Town of Mashpee in the HVAC hid protest between the low Filed-Sub bidder DDS Industries and the
protestor, Superior Sheet metal. Our time was spent speaking, communicating and r iaymg documentation with the Town
of Mashpee,Town Counsel,DCAM,Mss 's office,Mass Licensing,DDS Industries and Superior Sheet Metal.
. 11parading the Project to LPPi s—See summary under separate corer, but it is important for the committee to realize that
the team proceeded with the LEEDs without, delay.
. Committee l tdTraditional project committee meetings are twice monthly in the design and construction phases.
Because of the make-up of the Mashpee Planning and Construction Committee (i.e.; Sub-Committee and Committee) our
meeting schedule has evolved into meetings per month. It may not seem like much to attend an extra meeting every
month, but adding in the bine necessary for presentation and document preparation and the time involved with each
muting, we can easily account for an additional 30 to 40 hours of OPM time from June 08 through our third meeting this
month.
. Brick Pavers—Brick donation pagers and the research necessary for the committee is not a traditional OPM responsibility.
On behalf of the project,we have researched and reviewed options, searched out a vendor, estimated the cost and provided
a summary report for the committee to use in the implementation of the brick paver program. We performed this service to
move this issue along so as to not delay our progress res or lose the opportunity for the program. We would like this work to be
considered a donation to the project.
Pomroy Associates—NE—1/28/09 OPM Additional Services Review Page 1 of 1
