UebraEX.Ppject <br /> Rick Pornroy provided a written update on the Library project and explained each item in detail, A copy <br /> of the written update is attached to the printed set of these'minutes. <br /> • 'Rick advised that the project sign is complete and will be going up on Friday at the corner of <br /> Route 151 and Job's Fishing Road, The Committee agreed with the location of the sign. <br /> • PV Debate application submitted and we should have a response within 30 days. <br /> • Mashpee a Com mons reviewed sewer connections and they signed off on them. <br /> • Dick said they extended an offer to Mashpee Commons to do the curbing for them at a very good <br /> price,but Mashpee Commons did not respond yet. <br /> • Dick has asked the contractor for estimate on upgrading aluminum flashings to copper. <br /> • Rick has asked the contractor for credits on items we've eliminated. <br /> • Rick has asked for rail prices that go wall to wall since the old rails from the old library are 2 feet <br /> short and in poor condition, <br /> • lick said we are pretty much clone with materials testing, so costs are being cut. <br /> Book Security System <br /> Rick informed the Committee that at this point in time it was deckled to remove book drop management <br /> system from the security system and in doing this the cost will now be$39,323. (Detailed in NELMT <br /> quote sheet attached to the printed set of these minutes,) Rick said they are moving ahead as if they are <br /> not going to put in any book drop management system. Steve Cook noted that$50,000 was in the budget <br /> for the security system, so this means we are now within the budgeted amount. Joyce Mason advised that <br /> Helene was on vacation and Helene's assistance and input is needed to go forward. <br /> Bud Rick suggested line items 21 and 22 of the development budget(attached)be rolled into <br /> contingency line 22. The Committee agreed. <br /> Cave Cod Alarm....Contract for building security system signed with Cape Cod Alarm, <br /> Furniture■,.Follow-up meeting on furniture design will be neat Tuesday at the project site trailer. Jane <br /> Dolan asked whether offers would be forthcoming from vendors such as Herman Miller. Joyce Mason <br /> advised that it would be a bid process. Rick elaborated and said this is the better way to go;that the <br /> Committee will choose furniture they Bice and thea it goes out for bid. <br /> Donation wall...Steve Cook described a dark grey slate wall that he saw that looked very elegant. He <br /> also showed a phot' <br /> o of the or bead stone that couldbe used as a border. Shelly asked if they received <br /> the Library Trustees suggestions for the wall. Steve said he didn't get anything yet. Rick Pomroy <br /> suggested that this should be nailed down within a month or so timeline. <br /> Bricks,..Irving Goldberg asked whether anyone has looked into the permanent color bricks he has seen <br /> advertised. Catherine said she will cheek into it. <br /> Time Capsule <br /> Jane Dolan addressed the Committee saying she 'is going to present to the Board of Library Trustees a <br /> proposal to place a time capsule i the new Library building. Jane asked ghat this would entail. The <br /> discussion raised a number of issues to be considered... <br /> • Would it be imbedded in the wall? <br /> • would there be a game opening in the wall with a glass block, and then can be removed without <br /> any trouble? <br /> • ' Mould it be placed outside? <br />
