New Business
Closeout of LibLar
y Project
• Catherine said that other than 2 outstanding work items—that is,the door locks and outside trash
receptacles the Library Project is complete.
• Catherine advised that based on a letter received, the minimum LEED Certification the Library
will achieve will be the silver certification. Steve Cook asked Catherine to follow-up with
Stewart Roberts to see when we can expect to get the final certification so we can get the LEED
money before we borrow.project funds.
Prelimin Report for Caital Deeds Assessment
Catherine provided the Committee with a summaryof Rick Pomroy's preliminary report and a list he
provided of the top 10 items to act on relative to the capital needs study. A copy of the list of top 1
items is attached to the printed set of these minutes.
Commute asked: Is there anything they fund that required immediate response? Catherine responded
"no". She said a lot of issues are due to age of building; age of equipment. She stated that as to comfort,
energy efficiency,or safety, there is nothing of concern.
Catherine advised that we need to get back to Lick Pomroy in a couple of weeks with-Town comments so
he can move forward and finalize the report by raid-September. Catherine said what is to cone from
PCC is identifying items to move forward-,and lick is to provide costs of the items listed in the study.
J Alis asked why no cost estimate now? Steve Cook said Pomroy still has to do that his is just ghat
has been clone to date.
Gene Smargon said the Police Department is required to have unbreakable lights installed but this is not
in the report. Steve said that's why you have to look over the report and let Rick know what should be
added.
Iry said the septic system for Town Hall is not in the report. Catherine said we didn't ask Pomroy to look
into the septic system because we know that's an issue. Catherine said We are in compliance but if w
ever expand Town Hall(for instance, convert the attic to office space ,then we would not be in
compliance.
Ap royal of Invoices for Paent dor Ca it l Needs Assessment
The following 2 invoices were submitted for approval for payment: $3 1,000 and$11,531.25–to Pomroy
Associates. Gene Smarg n questioned whether$42,000 worth of work of the$65,000 budgeted has been
done. Steve Cook pointed out the budget breakdown sheet and the dollar value noted, so the Committee
agreed the invoices are within the projected budget breakdown.
Motion: Sheldon Gilbert motioned that the 2 invoices presented for$42,531.25 be accepted for
payment;Irving Goldberg seconded this motion.
Roll--Call vote was taken and all voted "yes",except A J.EMS,who abstained.
The motion was passed by a vote of 5-Yes; 1-Abstain.
Next Meetin ...No meeting scheduled at this time.
Ad'ournme t...Sheldon Gilbert motioned the meeting be adjourned;Irving Goldberg seconded the
motion.
Roll-Call vote was taken and all voted "yes".
