Catherine Laurent, DPW Director SUBJECT: Recommendation for Award of Contract for HVAC Projects On Wednesday, June 81h, the Town received four (4) bids for the Contractor for various HVAC projects including replacement of the boiler at the Police Station and replacement of two air handler units at the IAC Coombs. The bid opening minutes are attached hereto. DPW re orrmends that a contract be awarded to Mercury Mechanical Services of Weymouth, MA. The total amount of the contract bid is $98.$888-00. Mercury Mechanical was the lowest responsive and qualified bidder. They are highly rated by the MA Division of Capital Asset Management out of 100 points). DPW*s review of their most recent project references were very favorable {good workman-ship, responsive, adheres to schedule). They did have one un'favorable rating from 6 years ago from-the City of Cambridge. it appears that the issues leading to the unfavorable evaluation have .since been addressed by Mercury Mechanical on subsequent projects. Upon award of the contract, Mercury Mechanical can begin work on securing the necessary permits so that construction can commence without delay. Because one of the projects is at a school, there is a limited window to complete-work.
