TOWN OF MASHPEE REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS ENGINEERING/DESIGN SERVICES The Town of Mashpee (hereinafter referred to as the Town) is requesting proposals from qualified firms for the completion of engineering and design services, including preparation of bid documents,for specific improvements to the Mashpee Archives. The Town of Mashpee has a standing Planning and Construction Committee that serves as the chief advisor to the Town Manager and Board of Selectmen and all phases of the project shall be closely coordinated through said Committee. Scope of Work The Town of Mashpee seeks Qualification Proposals from qualified firms to provide engineering and design services for the Mashpee Archives, as described below. It is the Town's intent to complete the entire Scope of Work as outlined herein, but Town reserves the right to reduce, revise or add to the Scope of Work if in the best interests of the Town. The Mashpee Archives located at 13 Great Neck Road North is an approximately 2,000 square foot, 2 story, wood frame building. It was constructed in 1965 and is currently used by the Town's Historical Commission to store and display materials relevant to the Town's history. A Capital Needs Assessment was completed for the building in September 2010. A copy of the report is included with this RFQ. A number of the improvements proposed are identified in this report.,The specific improvements contemplated by this RFQ include: • Replacement of HVAC/Climate Control System • Installation of Sprinkler System • Upgrade of Building's electrical to current code and replacement of interior lighting • Completion of accessibility Improvements, including front entrance and Vt floor bathroom • Investigation of floor load capacity and modification to structure if necessary for anticipated use • Replacement of ceiling system in basement level Replacement of windows • Replacement of exterior stairway • Construction of bulkhead roof/overhang • Construction of archival storage and displays Project Schedule This is a fast track project. Firms submitting proposals should expect to attend interviews as early as Tuesday, October 11, 2011. Award of a contract is expected by Tuesday, November 8, 2011. The selected firm should be prepared to start immediately upon execution of the contract. The project shall be completed no later than March 1, 2012.
