Recycling Committee Meeting Minutes December 18, 2002 Members present: Chuck Gasior, Nikki lescoteaux, Others: Catherine Laurent, Mary Keleher The meeting began at 4:00 P.M. The meeting minutes of the November 20, 2002 meeting were approved. C. Gasior informed the committee that the business owner liaison's name is Linda Steele. She is the branch'manager at Cape Cod Five Cents savings hank. C. Laurent sent a ` memo to the Board of Selectmen explaining the idea of a business recycling day. C. Laurent is still waiting for Brad Trippto call back about the Coombs School recycling program. I. Descoteaux questioned the recycling ofwrapping paper. C. Laurent has contacted the cable station and there will be a message informing residents that wrapping paper is recyclable. C. Laurent informed the committee that there has been an increase inole coming in p g for recycling bins and there has also been an increase in residents recycling at the Transfer Station since the mailing of the recycling brochure. C. Laurent informed the committee that the Transfer Station will be accepting Christmas trees for recycling again this year at no charge. C. Laurent idormed the committee that the Selectmen voted against an increase in the sticker fee at the Transfer Station. The committee discussed the necessity of increasing the fee because the costs of disposal, hauling, operation, etc., increase over the years. C. Gasior requested a copy of the proposed budget. C. Laurent will mail copies to all the committee members. The next recycling committee meeting will be held on January 15, 2003 at 4:00 P.M. The meeting adjourned at 5:00 P.M. x
