The Committee discussed writing a periodic column in the Mashpee Enterprise on <br /> recycling. Catherine questioned whether such a column would reach the Committee's <br /> "target" audience (non-recyclers). Chuck will find out about the Enterprise's circulation <br /> numbers. <br /> PA" T <br /> The Committee reviewed the statistics pulled from t o DEQ''s web page about existing <br /> I AYT programs in Massachusetts as well as the potential costs to residents. For some <br /> households, a PAYT program would substantially increase their annual disposal costs, <br /> although the cost would still be significantly less than private curbside collection. <br /> Catherine will contact two f the towns with similar demographics to Mashpee for more <br /> information. She will also contact the Town of Falmouth for information n their <br /> { curbside collection program which includes trash and recycling. <br /> SNAP SHOP <br /> i <br /> Catherine drafted a memorandum to send to the Selectmen recommending against the <br /> pemng of a swap shop at the Transfer Station as suggested in an editorial in the <br /> Mashpee Enterprise. The memorandum outlines the experiences of other towns with a <br /> swap shop and lists the options currently available to residents for donation of items for <br /> muse. Nikki suggested that the C nittee compile a more comprehensive resource <br /> guide for use by residents.
