i <br /> Recycling Committee <br /> Monday, May 12, 2008 <br /> Minutes <br /> Members Present: Nikki Descoteaux, Cluck Gasior <br /> Others: Debbie Weber <br /> John Brown <br /> Catherine Laurent, DPW <br /> quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 3:30 p.m.. <br /> RECYCLING POSTCARD <br /> The Committee proofed the postcard prior to printing. The postcard will be nailed in <br /> June. The Committee also discussed includmng reminders or recycling tips in the future <br /> with tax bills, ATI warrants, and/or Ton Reports. <br /> The postcard sets a goal for 10% increased recycling. The Conmittee agreed to erect a <br /> sign at the Transfer Station. A tree will be used to measure achievement over the year. <br /> The total money saved by recycling will be noted at the end of the year. <br /> HAULER RECYCLING <br /> New Seabury received proposals from haulers for trash and recycling service for their <br /> residents. Considerations included method ofrecyclable collection- single <br /> stream/commingled or separation— and seasonal occupancies. Recommendation of two <br /> haulers will be presented to residents at the village meetings in July and at the annual <br /> meeting in August. <br /> RECYCLING CERTIFICATE <br /> The Committee voted to award a certificate to Rachel Gutman at the end of the school <br /> year in recognition of her water bottle recycling efforts at the Quashnet School. <br /> The next Recycling Committee meeting ill be on Jura 17, 2008 at :30 p. .. <br /> The meeting adjourned at :00 p.m.. <br /> Respectively submitted, <br /> Catherine Laurent <br />
