J <br /> Recycling Committee <br /> October 6, 2011 Minutes <br /> Members ers Present: June Levy, Sheldon Gilbert, Chuck Gasior <br /> Others: Mie Richardson, Selectman <br /> Jon Leavitt <br /> Catherine Laurent, DPMI <br /> A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 3:3 0 p.in.. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> The minutes of the August 31"meeting were approved 2-0 with 1 abstention. <br /> PAYT Discussion <br /> The Committee discussed how to proceed. Absent new information, the Selectmen are unlikely to <br /> change their position on PAYT. The Selectmen and residents may be more receptive to.PAYT when <br /> the Town's disposal contract with SE ASS expires and costs increase significantly. More <br /> information on Sandwich's program wi11 obtained. <br /> 'ape Cod Solid waste Advisory Committee <br /> Future disposal options for the Cape towns have been narrowed to 4. A recommendation may be made <br /> in time for- consideration at the 2.012 Annual Town Meetings. <br /> Status Quo <br /> The Committee supported a recornrendation to increase the permit fee in FYI 3 t 120. This fee is <br /> comparable to the fees in other towns. DPW will make this recommendation to the Selectmen. There <br /> has been conversation about having the Transfer Station be operated through an Enterprise Fund. <br /> Linder an Enterprise Fund, users would have to fund 100% of operational costs. <br /> Education <br /> The Town is participati <br />
