He submitted a memo depicting a <br /> reduction ( $252, 500) in the school budget stating <br /> that the School Department "could live with' the <br /> following reductions: ' <br /> nservice Training - 1j20 <br /> Teaching Supplies 28 , 109 <br /> Reduction of Reading Revision - 20, 000 <br /> Sick Leave Buy Back - 10, 800 <br /> } Transportation - 11500 <br /> Building Maintenance 51000 <br /> Equipment Maintenance + <br /> TOTAL POSSIBLE REDUCTION 71, 659 <br /> , 4. 1: 2 dash a Teachers' Association -- In response <br /> GP <br /> -to School Committee request to meet and discuss <br /> possible ways solutions for FY93 financial <br /> constraints, the Association submitted a letter <br /> suggesting any date in January other than the 8th. <br /> Dr. DeMura will coordinate a date with the <br /> Association, <br /> 4. 2 Report of the Chairman <br /> . 2 , 1 Children' s Rights , White House Response <br /> In response to a letter sent by the School. <br /> Committee 'to President Bush recently concerning a <br /> United Nations Children' s Petition, Dr. Petti read <br /> aloud a letter receivod from the White House <br /> expressing the concerns of the President and <br /> thanking the 'Com i tee for 'the letter . <br /> 4.2 . 3 Unsigned Corres ndenc - Dr. Petti <br /> mentioned that a letter had been received addressed <br /> to the School Committee but because there was no <br /> signature of the writer she could not read it aloud <br /> or respond to it.
