Mills , seconded by Mrs. <br /> Minutes iunivan� to <br /> approve the minutes of the special <br /> _ tinued r eeti g on June 30 , 19926 <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Notion rade by Dr. Petti, seconded by Mrs, Mills, to <br /> approve the minutes of the executive session held on <br /> June 30 , 1992 . <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Under the "Use of Facilities" heading, the Cape <br /> Public Forum Coders Against Racism ( CCAR) had requested to use <br /> the Coombs School for a program to be held on <br /> September 26 and September 27 , 1992 to educate the <br /> community, teachers and other interested persons <br /> regarding Mashpee Wampanoag Heritage as well as a <br /> program that will culminate a year-long series of <br /> activities marking the 500th anniversary o <br /> Columbus.. There were- representatives from CCAR who <br /> spoke regarding their- organization and their <br /> r= facility usage request, Amita Little requested <br /> t q angi g the location from the Coombs school to the <br /> Diddle School* Dr. DeMoura read aloud <br /> parts o <br /> correspondence from Mr David7 Lilienthal, Jr. <br /> `. representing CCAR. Joan Tavares spoke in regards to <br /> clarifying C AR' s request. Nr. Lilienthal spoke at <br /> length describing the purpose of CCAR. Susan walker <br /> from C AR discussed the Columbus theme. <br /> Questions from the Committee were asked and answered <br /> regarding the location, program content of this <br /> event. Also, Dr. Petti related her concerns <br /> regarding a political group using school facil ties. <br /> f , <br /> Ms . Gibbs questioned admission fees wherein Mr. <br /> r Lilienthal responded that monies would be received <br /> through foundation grants . There would be a sliding <br /> scale for participants and special prices would be <br /> set for educators. <br /> The Conn ittee f elt that if the Mashpee Tribal <br /> n <br /> ,. Council endorsed CCR' s request and with the aid of <br /> x. Joan Tavares then they would feel more comfortable <br /> granting the request. <br /> After considerable discussion a notion was rade b <br /> Mrs , uni ran, seconded by. Ms. Gibbs,, to take the <br /> :s; . .. CAR request under advisement until further detailed <br /> 6 R"dinformation as schedule of events and more <br /> ; specificity on the use of the facility is received <br /> and Joan Tavares would work with CAR in coor- <br /> dinating the educational programs. <br /> W VOTE: Unanimous <br /> :�=r�. <br /> :: '4 <br />
