Fifty seven <br /> parents were in attendance at this meeting, After <br /> Dr. DeMoura made his pesentato , parent input was <br /> invited. only four parents spoke in opposition to <br /> his recommendation. <br /> t <br /> After much discussion r Dr, DeMoura asked the <br /> Committee to reaffirm his previous decision of <br /> full day everyday. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills to reconsider. Motion <br /> was seconded by Ms. Gibbs. <br /> Dr: Petti asked for clarification of "reconsider. " <br /> "What' s- the point of reconsidering?" Mrs,. Du Ivan <br /> • respond-ed that zome parents are not happy with a <br /> full day everyday program while some are. Mx* <br /> consavi asked the committee to keep the <br /> Superintendent' s recommendation of full day <br /> everyday as it' s not possible to please all <br /> t parents. Ms . Gibbs said that full day everyday is <br /> wonderful but she understands the parents' ' <br /> concerns. She suggested an option of five full <br /> days or five half days. Mrs. Mills discussed bus <br /> issues -- rides may be too long for small <br /> children. Mrs* Dun van asked Dr. DeMoura about the <br /> cost of busses and teachers. Dr. DeMoura responded <br /> ;4 saying both would depend on the number of children <br /> enrolled* He said transportation would be provided <br /> for all children to the closest bus top, not <br /> shuttled to daycare providers, Ms. Gibbs asked <br /> how many half day registrations would be needed to <br /> Y= complement a half day everyday program. It -was <br /> :t. decided that a total of 20 would be needed to carry <br /> r4 <br /> a <br /> on with a half day everyday program. <br /> After much discussion, a motion was made by Mrs. <br /> ,E S <br /> Mails giving parents the choice of five full days <br /> or erre half days with a minimum of 20 children <br /> µ <br /> registered in the half day program. Bus <br /> ' transportation would be provided to children with <br /> pickup and drop off to the bus stop closest t <br /> their homes.
