Page
Mr. Fredericks, "Well, I think that ' s basicalfy where
rritte is
co
coming from as all and for e, coming on board just
in March and then almost not even two months later finding there
is some discussion that we' re gonna take back the' Community
School and it just - wrecks . havoc when you' re trying to Calan on
what we need to do for the future especially with the comrnittee
and basically what Ilm trying to do with the committee as we'll is
develop -a mission statement andwe've talked over this quite a
k bit but we don' t have any right now other than the fact that we
do have the by-laws of the LSAC by.-laws. But when you sit
together and put together long-term programs and long-term
commitments on things, it's kind of difficult to do that when
there' s, i l m not sere what it' s called, but we keep hearin these
rumors that
the school Committee is going t tape it
Mrs. Dunivan, "Rumors are terrible, aren' t they?
Mr, Fredericks,, eyes. "
Mrs. Dunivan, "I think the thing that bothers me and I think what
bothers the rest of our Committee is the fact the statement that
was made that you couldn' t use the schools . In the s, mertime,
our custodians only work during the day, you certainly can use
the school a night. You have to budget that in yoar bd e when R
you do your budget in May prior to going`to Torn Meeting`. o a "
Mr. Fredericks, 'But one of the things that I go back to as well
is that there hasn' t been the use of the school prior t . . .except
for now. "
Mrs. Dunivan, "We have nearer ever ever stated that the school
could not be used.. Ani 1 correct, Dr . DeMoura He responded,
Yes. " Mrs. Dunivan continued? "Am I correct, Elizabeth?
Maryanner?"
Ms. ibis, "We give two nights a week to u!se the school. " Mrs,
Dunivan responded, '.'That' s correct. "
Dr , Petti stated, "We had a meeting before you carne with the
Selectmen in the Great Bova of the Samuel Davis School. t was
decided what nights the school would be opened, it was decided
where the funds would came from if the school budget could not
F afford to keep the school open, Everything was decided and
for one, don' t want to hear anyone else in the Town of Mashpee
5]} say that you cannot use the school because it was decided on at
F i
:f that meeting. All of the five selectmen were here and we care
g
. up with a decision. And your liaison to your committee should
know that. "
xiws
..5'
