Basic Skill Test Summary - 1992 of Mashpee
` students to the School Committee. After re' iew of
this chart, Dr. Deoura and the School Committee
took exception to its contents saying the graph does
not show where Mashpee student compare to the rest
f the state, or nationally. It does not show that
Mashpee children test at or above grade level. Dr.
D l dura stated that the Department of Education
would never release a graph lake this because it
does not make sense* Mashpe is compared to towns
,. mo
which are not slar "kinds of co unities" as
stated by Patricia Parolski, Testing Director. She
also stated that another misconception is that the
;. test scores purport to ' be from 1992 but the state
discontinued basic skills testing like this ina 1991.
After -much discussion on this issue, Mrs. parolski
said she would be more than happy to discuss all
test scores with Mr. Polai so he could understand
them.
