DeMoura, # <br /> T 415'i <br /> C,hair Carole Dunivan called the meeting to order at 4 :42 Pam* In <br /> the Office of the Superintendent of Schools in the Samuel G. <br /> Davis School. <br /> a <br /> In preparation for the Special Town Meeting to be held o ,, <br /> Saturday, December 4, 1993, the Committee met to discuss events <br /> leading -up to this meeting. At this point, Mrs* Dunivan asked <br /> Mrs. Mills, who is the School Committee liaison to the High }'} <br /> School BuildingCom ittee, to give an overview of the history of <br /> events. Mrs. Mills explained why Mashpee had to vacate Falmouth � <br /> High School, the Board of Selectmen's appointment of the � <br /> Educational FacilitieB Needs Committee and the two site <br /> elections this committee made the Mashpee Center site and the <br /> Route 151 site) , feasibility sttdied had been dome 6n both sites' <br /> I <br /> and the current High School Building Committee was directed by ,- <br /> the Selectmen to select one of these two sites to construct a new <br /> high school.. After many meetings and discussions, both pro and <br /> con on these sues, the High School Building Committee <br /> recommended the Mashpee Center site as the site for a new high <br /> school. For one reason or another, there were townspeople who ; <br /> thought this site was not feasible so the Selectmen decided to <br /> have the voters of the torn decide where to place the school <br /> either Mashpee Center or Route 151 . That will be done on <br /> December 4th. *'# <br /> The School Committee stated that they did not have a preference y r <br /> ere the school should be built but rather that the mediate <br /> meed for one exists, <br /> F ' <br /> r. <br /> y i r <br /> Mrs. Dunivan ask ed Mrs. Mills to attend the Selectmen`s meeting <br /> scheduled for this evening to discuss the School Committee's view <br /> n this issue. Mrs. Mills plans to attend. <br /> executive Session On a motion made by Mr. Con alvi and seconded <br /> by Dr. Petti, the Committee moved into executive session at 5:45 <br /> psMb <br /> 'i!w <br /> o].l Call Vote: In favor -- Mrs. Dunivan, MB.
