MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - JULY 6, 1994 PAGE 3 <br /> 4 . 3 Principals ' Report <br /> 4 .3 . 1 Kenneth C. Coombs - Mr. Feldman said June was filled <br /> with special events for this children as well as grant <br /> writing with parents. The summer will be busy with <br /> scheduling. Mr. Feldman also addressed the School Council's <br /> core values dated June 1, 1994 which were: <br /> 1 . Cultivation of school/community partnerships that <br /> support innovative, meaningful programs in an inclusive, <br /> welcoming climate built on honoring differences, <br /> acknowledging contributions and promoting personal and <br /> social responsibility. <br /> 2 . A commitment to enhancing academic, artistic, <br /> recreational and life skills areas through an extended <br /> day program. <br /> 3 . The importance of producing creative thinking, self- <br /> confident, problem-solvers through varied, challenging <br /> instructional practices that accommodate a wide scope of <br /> learning needs styles and abilities. <br /> 4 . A successful program of professional development will be <br /> the catalyst for the systemic change desired in <br /> curriculum and instruction, materials, assessment and <br /> community involvement. <br /> At this time, 4 .7 International Internship Program, was <br /> discussed where Mr. Feldman said the Coombs School, once <br /> again, has the opportunity to participate in this program. <br /> The Coombs School took part in this program before and was <br /> very successful. Mr. Feldman asked the Committee's <br /> permission to participate in a four-month Japanese <br /> internship program again during the 1994-1995 school year. <br /> Motion made by Dr. Petti, seconded by Mr. Consalvi, to <br /> approve Mr. Feldman's request. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 4. 3 .2 Middle School - Ms. Gibbs welcomed Robert Tippo, the <br /> new Middle School principal. He said he was looking forward <br /> to working in Mashpee. <br /> 4 .4 Audio-Visual Equipment - Due to the school department's <br /> inability to replace equipment, it is necessary to remove <br /> the following items from the inventory because of the <br /> inability to obtain parts and repairs are not cost <br /> effective.
