SHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - JULY 6, 1994 PAGE 5 <br /> 4 .7 International Internship Program - This item was discussed <br /> earlier by Mr. Feldman. See above under Coombs School <br /> Principal's Report. <br /> 4 . 8 Leisure Services Appointments - The terms for the School <br /> Committee Leisure Services Advisory Board appointees expired <br /> in June thus, Dr. DeMoura asked the Committee for permission <br /> to contact the two representatives to ask if they would like <br /> to remain as appointees. Permission was granted and he will <br /> make contact with Maureen Paxton and Ronald Roberts. <br /> 5. 1 Middle School - School Council Improvement Plan - At last <br /> pecifically month's meeting, Mary Durham presented the Middle School <br /> ssigned/ School Improvement Plan to the Committee. Included in the <br /> nfinished packet were review materials for approval. <br /> usiness Motion made by Dr. Petti, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to approve <br /> the Middle School Improvement Plan as presented. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> 5 .2 Superintendent's Evaluation - Chair Ms. Gibbs said that <br /> after collating the five Committee members' evaluation <br /> instrument (former Committee member Carole Dunivan's was <br /> counted) , Dr. DeMoura's evaluation was an "excellent" one. <br /> The evaluation is based on the following categories: <br /> 1 . Relationships with the School Committee <br /> 2 . Community Relations <br /> 3. Staff and Personnel Relationships <br /> 4 . Educational Leadership <br /> 5. Business and Finance <br /> 6. Personal Qualities <br /> 5 . 3 School Council Liaison - At the June meeting, Dr. Petti <br /> suggested having a School Committee member as a liaison with <br /> each School Council. After discussion, it was decided that <br /> any Committee member could attend any Council meetings they <br /> wished and thus, no need for a liaison. <br /> 5.4 Kenneth C. Coombs Grant - French Curriculum - Discussion <br /> followed on the availability of funds in the budget to grant <br /> this request from French teacher Mae Cushing. <br /> After deciding that at this time, the school department <br /> could not fund her request, a motion was made by Mr. <br /> Consalvi and seconded by Mrs. Mills to table this issue. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> VI . 6. 1 Home Instruction - A parent request was submitted on behalf <br /> New of Jasmine Simpson, Grade 3 student, to conduct home in- <br /> Business struction during the 1994-1995 school year. Dr. DeMoura <br /> recommended approval of the home instruction request. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Petti, to approve <br />
