Bob Sullivan mentioned that as an <br /> Assistant Harbormaster he is very familiar with what the Harbormaster <br /> does , <br /> Currently, Perry indi ated that he has been doing computer wore . They <br /> are creating a new data base for mooring bills . They will be sending <br /> bills out- for moorings . <br /> He and the Waterway Commission will be working with WEBNER at Waquoit . <br /> They have a pump out at Little Deck Bay. There are no toilet facili- <br /> ties in Waquoit Bay, Jae D llagala asked if he takes care of all the <br /> ponds? Perry said that he covers Waquoit Bay, Little River, Creat <br /> River, - Popponesset, Jehu Pond, M .sh ee Wakeby, John' 6 Pond and Ashumet . <br /> During the summer, the staff consists of himself, two paid Waterway <br /> Assistants and volunteers . The position calls for him to work forty <br /> weeks, forty hours a weeds April through December. <br /> Discussion ensued with regard to the bass tournament at MashpeWaeby. <br /> Perry said that there, is a 7 ; 00 a. m . start up with boats . They are <br /> loosing into changing the time because of the noise and complaInts from <br /> residents who live on the pond . However, there are some problems <br /> because the town mules and state rules were different . <br /> They are also getting a new engine for one of the boats . They h-ar <br /> ordered new buoys, and they are going over ll -,the equipment . The <br /> department has four boats plus little ones . Perry said that he does <br /> all the maintenance on the boats including the ergine and fiberglass . <br /> In the winter, the .boats are pulled in. He checks to make sure they <br /> have- good mushroom anchors and good chains . He repairs and reshac l e <br /> the mooring chains . He is currently looking into numbering the eighty <br /> aids to navigation. Perry mentioned that they have unregistered <br /> markers in the channel which must be registered . <br /> He is also a Special Police Officer and an Assistant Shellfish Warden. <br /> He does rescues and checks the ponds in the winter to make sure no one <br /> is out on the ice . <br />
