Mashpee Historic District Commission <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 17, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Historic District Commission Members Present: Dennis Balzarini, Brian Hyde, Mike Robbins <br /> Also: Evan Lehrer, Town Planner <br /> Absent: Chairman Earl Mills, Sr., Maureen Paxton, Jessie Baird, Brad Pittsley <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The Town of Mashpee Historic District Commission meeting was called to order by Clerk Brian <br /> Hyde at 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. <br /> DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED PROJECT <br /> Applicant: Mr. Abdul Hafeez Mian, Property Owner <br /> Location: Mashpee Country Store,387 Main Street, Mashpee(Map 36,Parcel 13) <br /> Request: Certificate of Non-Applicability <br /> Description: The applicant is seeping endorsement of non-applicability for exterior <br /> construction of an attached unenclosed wooden storage structure at the rear of the <br /> Mashpee Country Store. <br /> Mr. Mian reported that he wished to build a structure at the back of the store, to store items such <br /> as a lawn mower or tools. The building would be open sided with a roof. Mr. Mian confirmed <br /> that trash would not be stored in the structure, but would be located in the dumpster. <br /> Mr. Lehrer confirmed that the Building Inspector learned of the construction, and the two met <br /> with the owner's wife and brother-in-law to clarify historic district guidelines. The owner ceased <br /> construction immediately to seek review by the Historic District Commission. <br /> Mr. Balzarini stated that he had no issue with the request. Mr. Robbins confirmed that the <br /> structure could not be seen from the street, adding that it was his opinion the request did not fall <br /> within their jurisdiction. <br /> MOTION: Mr. Robbins made a motion that the Committee approve this Certificate of <br /> Non-Applicability. Mr. Balzarini seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES February 2, 2018 <br /> MOTION: Mr. Balzarini made a motion to accept the minutes as written for February 2. <br /> Mr. Hyde seconded the motion. 2 yes, 1 abstain <br /> OTHER BUSINESS <br /> Mr. Lehrer reported that correspondence had been received regarding the monument across the <br /> street which received classification as a historic monument. Any comments regarding the letter <br /> should be forwarded to the Planning Department. <br /> 1 <br />
