16 <br /> Board of Selectman <br /> Minutes <br /> June 4, 2018 <br /> Review and Approval of Annual Boards and Committees Reappointment List: <br /> Recent resignations were announced; <br /> Dawn Thayer from the Cultural Council <br /> Kim Morris Affirmative Action Committee <br /> The Board of Selectmen does not appoint board and committee members appointed by their respective <br /> board/committee. School appointments are not voted upon by the Board of Selectmen, This includes <br /> the following; <br /> Affordable Housing Committee—Tribal representative <br /> Americans with Disabilities Act Committee (ADA) - School <br /> Community Preservation Committee—Historical, Housing Authority, ConCom, Planning Board <br /> Design Review Committee—Planning Board, Zoning Board representatives <br /> Environmental Oversight Committee—Planning, Conservation, School <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the 2018 Annual Appointment List as amended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> LIAISON REPORTS <br /> Appointments to Boards & Committees: At the last meeting, the Board of Selectmen discussed the <br /> appointment process, and agreed to consider developing policy for future nominations to boards and <br /> committees. It was disclosed that this action would require a bylaw change. It was agreed the Board <br /> would further review this matter and consider an article for the October Town Meeting. <br /> Resignations: A brief discussion followed regarding resignations received from various boards and <br /> committee members. In considering an exit interview or conversation with the resigned individual; it <br /> was decided the Board of Selectmen would include with the letter of appreciation a brief letter or <br /> survey regarding the position held by the board/committee member. It would not be a requirement to <br /> provide feedback. <br /> Substance Abuse Council: The monthly Drop-In Center held on the first Tuesday of each month will <br /> be relocated to the Mashpee Library where there is more space to support initiatives such as speakers to <br /> further enhance the objective of the Substance Abuse Task Force to expand their horizons by educating <br /> the community. Special commendation was given by Town Manager Rodney C. Collins to honor all <br /> persons who have participated is this worthwhile program. Gail Wilson,the Human Services Director <br /> was individually recognized for her passion and commitment. <br />
