Motion seconded by Mr.Paxton. Discussion followed with regards to the new positions as proposed. 1t was noted that the 0.5 Copy Room Secretary was deleted from the list at the last meeting of the School Committee. Mn.Lynch recommended to add 1 6th grade teacher to the list of FY97 Additional Staf rug. i It is the consensus of the Comm rittee to defer approval of the FY9+7 Additional Staffing proposal. This matter will be voted on by the School Committee after further budgetary discussions. FY- 97. zet RrAuglimsi Dr.DeMoura reviewed the proposed FY97 school budget reductions with members f the School Comrmttee and School Councils as dated February I , 1996. (enclosed) Dr. Del loura indicated that the original budget was $8,900,000. Pursuant to the directive of the Cottee, the FY97 budget has been reduced to reflect the sum of$8,501,352. It was noted that most of the budget reductions are reflected in the Wary arra wage account of which 5 of the budget is comprised. g Communication was received from the Mashpee High School Council dated February 15, 1996 relative to the FY97 budget. Parent representative Bary Rose Grady read aloud the memo addressed to the School Committee concerning the budget reductions. (enclosed) Mrs.Grady recommended the School Comrx tree restore the followm* g positions to the proposed school budget for calendar year 1997; 1. .5 Secretary 2. Grade 8 Teacher .
